OSTEOPATHY SERVICES

Guelph, Ontario

Osteopathy has historically been less known than Chiropractic, Massage or Physio even though it has been around for almost 150 years, but these days, more and more therapists are recognizing how effective osteopathy can be for multiple conditions, pains and aches and symptoms that tend to linger or plateau. For example, headaches, shoulder pain or knee instability that never seem to fully recover, many times have origins nowhere near where you feel them. This makes it very complimentary to many other health modalities.

I have heard the word 'witch craft' respectfully said many times from clients when they tell friends about what we do. What it is — is medical knowledge combined with excellent palpation skills and techniques to find and fix multiple health conditions.

Pain in shoulders, neck, back

Rib dysfunctions

Respiratory and Digestive Issues

Skeletal Alignments

Loose Ligaments

Chronic Illness

& much more from babies to adults

A typical osteopathic 'initial' lasts approximately 1 hour and follow-up' appointments from 30 - 60 minutes. Once your history has been taken further assessment may include observation of your body alignment and symmetry, active or passive movement tests and osteopathic 'listening' which provides me information directly from your body showing areas of priority to treat. A further assessment will be done on the massage table with a variety of non-intrusive techniques. During your treatment you are encouraged to wear comfortable, yet flexible clothing. Techniques may be a combination of myofascial release, cranial osteopathy, visceral manipulation, structural alignment and others depending on the needs of your body. Osteopathy can be a relatively quick fix for some issue and others it is more of a journey.  This is very useful for aches and pains in your muscles and joints throughout the body as well as dysfunctional health issues with digestion, elimination, breathing and more. You are welcome to ask questions and share feedback during your session.
